Our community mourns the loss of a dedicated student advocate whose impact reached far beyond the classroom. Debbie Weinfurtner meant so much to Boyd County, Kentucky, leaving an indelible mark on generations of young people.
Her legacy is inextricably tied to the Boyd County Lady Lions softball team. As a longtime coach, she was far more than an instructor of the game. She was a mentor who touched hearts and shaped character, teaching lessons of teamwork, resilience, and integrity that her athletes will carry for a lifetime. Her presence on the field was a constant, a source of encouragement and strength.
