Kymon KyndredChicago,IL Death,Obituary:: Chicago’s Ancestral Artist & Maker

The Chicago arts community mourns the profound loss of Kymon Kyndred, a visionary creative force whose work served as a vital bridge between past and present. As the founder of KyndredStudio, Kymon lived as an Ancestral Artist & Maker, specializing in jewelry, decor, and photography that pulsed with cultural memory and identity.

A graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology, Kymon masterfully fused technical precision with deep spiritual inquiry. Their studio was more than a workshop; it was a sanctuary where heritage was honored and transformed into tangible beauty. Each crafted piece and curated photograph stood as a testament to a legacy demanding preservation.

Beyond their studio, Kymon’s commitment radiated throughout the city. They were a steadfast presence for the Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago, supporting one of the nation’s premier African dance companies. This dedication extended broadly, as their artistry and genuine presence offered empowerment and connection to the community for years.

Kymon Kyndred’s passing leaves a palpable void. Yet, their legacy is permanently cemented in the metal they shaped, the spaces they adorned, and the collective spirit they uplifted. Their work remains an enduring tribute to the essential power of ancestral art in shaping and healing our contemporary world.
